On behalf of the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Hepatopancreaticobiliary Association (AANZHPBA) and the International Society of Fluorescence-Guided Surgery (ISFGS, Asia–Pacific Chapter), we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended, presented, contributed, and assisted in making our 2026 Scientific Meeting such a memorable success.
Bringing together clinicians from across multiple surgical specialties, the meeting provided two outstanding days of scientific exchange, collaboration, and innovation. From the HPB-focused sessions on Day 1 to the multidisciplinary plenary, breakout sessions, workshops, and abstract presentations on Day 2, the enthusiasm and engagement of our delegates created a truly exceptional learning environment.
This year’s meeting was particularly significant as we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the AANZHPBA. It was a privilege to reflect on the Association’s journey since its founding in 2005, honouring the pioneers, mentors, fellows, and colleagues whose dedication has shaped our specialty and fostered the strong sense of community that continues today.
We also explored the expanding role of fluorescence-guided surgery across HPB and many other surgical disciplines, with outstanding presentations from our international and local faculty highlighting the latest advances and future directions in this rapidly evolving field.
A special thank you goes to our invited speakers, session chairs, workshop faculty, abstract presenters, industry partners, sponsors, organising committees, and the many volunteers and support staff whose hard work behind the scenes ensured the meeting’s success. We also thank the AANZHPBA fellows who participated in the Fellows’ Weekend, continuing our tradition of education, mentorship, and professional development.
Most importantly, thank you to every delegate who travelled to Brisbane and contributed to the vibrant discussions, collegiality, and exchange of ideas throughout the meeting. Your participation made this event a fitting celebration of our 20th anniversary and reinforced the strength of our HPB community and our multidisciplinary collaborations.
